Insurance and FSA/HSA Coverage

Some of your JumpstartMD program cost may be reimbursable.

How Does Insurance Work with JumpstartMD?

If you have an insurance plan with out-of-network benefits, you may be eligible for reimbursement on your JumpstartMD program costs. If you qualify, our Concierge Medical Claims team will submit claims on your behalf and ensure your plan processes your claims correctly.*

You will be required to pay for the visit at the time of service, and you will receive reimbursement directly from your insurer, usually within 8 weeks. We cannot guarantee your exact coverage amount as individuals’ policies, deductibles, co-pays, and diagnoses may vary.  Note that all claims are subject to your plan deductible.  Please check your plan benefits for more information.

 

How Much is Covered by Insurance?

Specific reimbursement for the program is subject to your insurance plan, but many eligible PPO plans cover an average of 60% of the Weight Loss program cost. 

 

FSA / HSA Coverage

Your JumpstartMD Weight Loss visits are qualified medical expenses and can be paid for using a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Saving Account (HSA) with pre-taxed dollars. We can help you understand all your options and provide you with the necessary documentation to file your claim or you can pay with your card.

What about BHRT and Cardiometabolic Health patients?

Coverage for members who are receiving Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy or are using JumpstartMD’s Center for Cardiometabolic Health may vary, based on medical need and specific treatment options. Office visits and lab tests are typically covered by eligible PPO plans and FSA/HSA plans, but specific medication and procedures may not be covered. You can review your options with your provider prior to any treatments, or call us at 855-JUMPSTART to explore further.

 

*To qualify, you must have a PPO with out-of-network benefits, have paid your monthly membership, and attend at least two of your weekly visits per month. Unfortunately, HMO and Medicare plans do not cover JumpstartMD.
