Our company was founded in 2007 by Drs. Conrad Lai and Sean Bourke, two Stanford-trained physicians concerned about the serious effects obesity was having on their patients. Committed to making a positive change, Drs. Lai and Bourke introduced a new approach: a supportive, physician supervised program focused on fresh, whole foods and sustainable lifestyle change that goes beyond short-term results. They launched JumpstartMD to provide safe, swift, sustainable weight loss. The company has quickly grown into Northern California’s largest medically supported weight loss program.
Our professional staff includes experts in medicine, nutrition, psychology and physical fitness who meet individually with patients each week. Many have struggled with weight themselves. Some are former patients in our program. Since opening our first clinic in the East Bay, we have helped more than 7,500 people in the Bay Area transform their lives through fast, healthy weight loss.
