Program Counselor

JumpstartMD’s team of medicine, nutrition, psychology and fitness experts offer private care, individually-tailored programs and one-on-one weight management support in 11 convenient locations around the bay. JumpstartMD plans to add additional locations in the Bay Area as well as create capabilities to support profitable growth and expansion beyond the Bay Area in order to deliver the best patient experience in the industry.

 Position Overview:

Jumpstart MD seeks mission-oriented professionals to provide one-on-one consultations with weight-loss patients via nutrition education, exercise guidance, and lifestyle coaching. Program Counselors play an essential role in the patient experience and success at JumpstartMD.

Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Conducting patient consultations, ranging from one-hour initial consultations to weekly 15-minute check-ups
  • Complete medical procedures inclusive of conducting EKG’s, blood pressure check, and vitamin injections
  • Building relationships to promote long-term patient success
  • Maintaining a strong knowledge base of weight loss principles and strategies
  • Collaborating with other Jumpstart educators to continuously improve the JumpstartMD program
  • Assisting in daily operations
  • Providing extraordinary customer service

  • First-hand knowledge and experience in nutrition, fitness, and weight loss
  • Understanding of the physiology, pharmacology, and psychology underlying the Jumpstart weight loss approach
  • Bachelor’s Degree required in a related field
  • Prior experience with the JumpstartMD program a plus

 Clinician

JumpstartMD plans to add additional locations in the Bay Area as well as create capabilities to support profitable growth and expansion in order to deliver the best patient experience in the industry.

Job Summary:

Jumpstart Medicine is seeking a mission-oriented licensed medical practitioner (P.A. or N.P) to deliver medical care and oversight during consultations with weight-loss patients and to serve as a thought leader on obesity and weight loss at JumpstartMD.

We are currently seeking full and part-time positions in the following regions-  East Bay clinics (Pleasanton and Piedmont); South Bay (Los Gatos and Mountainview) and San Francisco (Laurel Heights and Financial District) Saturday shift if required.  Flexibility and ability to travel to various clinics is a plus.  Clinic hours begin at 7am.  We would also consider a per-diem clinician.

Responsibilities:

Provide routine care and management of patients as outlined in JumpstartMD’s standardized procedures.

Model exemplary patient interaction and program delivery:

  • Exude warmth, empathy, positivity and confidence with patients
  • Use active listening to collect information and maintain a patient-centered focus
  • Assess patients skillfully to identify their needs
  • Apply teaching and counseling techniques skillfully to address patients’ needs
  • Conduct productive, efficient patient consultations

Provide on-site leadership and direction to staff as needs arise

  • Assist Program Counselors with patient-related issues
  • Elevate program or operational issues to Clinician Manager or Director of Operations

Develop and maintain a strong knowledge base of weight loss principles and effective use of 15 Healthy Habits resources

  • Embrace learning to continually strive for better results with patients
  • Use and champion new resources from 15 Healthy Habits framework
  • Actively seek knowledge on best practices in nutrition, exercise and psychology as related to weight loss
  • Attend monthly Med Staff meeting

In addition, these qualities are desired but not essential:

  • Previous experience in the weight-loss field
  • Background in nutrition, fitness, teaching, or coaching
  • History of weight struggle and/or experience with the Jumpstart program
  • Self-motivated and resourceful in seeking methods to improve the JumpstartMD program

 Minimum Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of accredited NP or PA program.
  • Active California license
  • Commitment to quality healthcare.

 


Patient Care Coordinator

Position Overview:

JumpstartMD seeks a polished, self-directed, mission-minded individual with outstanding interpersonal skills, to act as our first-point-of-contact for new and returning patients.  Through a combination of tasks and qualities, this team member paves the way for an exemplary customer experience and sets the tone for patients and staff in the office.  Saturday morning shift is often required.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Greet and welcome patients. Act as patient host.
  • Manage the patient calendar.
  • Collaborate with team members to direct operational flow.  Take “ownership” of the clinic operations.
  • Assist in opening and closing procedures.
  • Provide extraordinary customer service and creative conflict resolution.
  • Maintain a strong knowledge base of the current JumpstartMD policies and procedures. Enable their implementation in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Process orders, collect payments, and manage office inventory.
  • Identify any necessary office improvements, and act to address them.

Workforce Planner/Scheduler

Position Overview:

The Workforce Planner/Scheduler, under the immediate supervision of the Workforce Operations Manager,  will obtain staff availability each month and prepare the clinic schedules so that each clinic is staffed adequately to meet patient demand.

Candidate Attributes:

The Workforce Planner/Scheduler must have the ability to juggle many tasks at one time, be comfortable with handling the unexpected and have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. Additionally, the scheduler must be flexible with last-minute changes and fair when managing the needs of individual members of staff.

Responsibilities:                                                                               

Manages the Scheduling Process

  • Collects and reviews all requests for paid time off (PTO) and unpaid time off; inclusive of vacation and any types of leaves of absence.
  • Fulfills staffing vacancies in advance to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts. Communicates monthly schedules to staff.
  • Communicates with clinical managers and the clinical directors regarding the placement and scheduling for newly hired employees for patient care and patient services departments.
  • Verifies ADP timecard records against master schedules, notifies manager and employee of timecard errors.
  • Utilizes Qgenda staffing software to prepare, change and update the monthly schedule.
  • Maintains and enforces timetable/scheduling deadlines for Clinical Operations.
  • Attends meetings with Workforce Operations Leadership to review scheduling process and protocol.
  • Works in conjunction with Clinicians to fill unplanned gaps within the clinics.
  • Conducts scheduling workshops for new hires. Orients new Clinic Managers and providers to the scheduling process and procedures.
  • Makes necessary status change updates in Qgenda scheduling software.
  • Escalates unsolvable scheduling conflicts to the appropriate parties while providing recommendations.
  • Develops baseline data and produces monthly metrics to support staffing patterns.
  • Handles all last minute sick calls and identifies solutions for potential gaps.

Maintains Scheduling System

  • Conducts system reviews and/or audits for quality improvement purposes.
  • Participates in the regular evaluation of the scheduling process in conjunction with the Clinical Operations leadership team.
  • Acts as key Clinical Operations contact, or super user, of the scheduling software system.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Six years of prior work experience as a scheduler in either a medical or retail industry
  • Previous experience with QGenda or scheduling software
  • Previous experience with ADP timekeeping tools

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
