Program Counselor

 Position Overview

Jumpstart MD seeks mission-oriented professionals to provide one-on-one consultations with weight-loss patients via nutrition education, exercise guidance, and lifestyle coaching. Program Counselors play an essential role in the patient experience and success at JumpstartMD.

Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Conducting patient consultations, ranging from one-hour initial consultations to weekly 15-minute check-ups
  • Complete medical procedures inclusive of conducting EKG’s, blood pressure check, and vitamin injections
  • Building relationships to promote long-term patient success
  • Maintaining a strong knowledge base of weight loss principles and strategies
  • Collaborating with other Jumpstart educators to continuously improve the JumpstartMD program
  • Assisting in daily operations
  • Providing extraordinary customer service

Job Summary:

Jumpstart Medicine is seeking a mission-oriented licensed medical practitioner (P.A. or N.P) to deliver medical care and oversight during consultations with weight-loss patients and to serve as a thought leader on obesity and weight loss at JumpstartMD.

We are currently seeking full and part-time positions in the following regions-  East Bay clinics (Pleasanton and Piedmont); South Bay (Los Gatos and Mountainview) and San Francisco (Laurel Heights and Financial District) Saturday shift if required.  Flexibility and ability to travel to various clinics is a plus.  Clinic hours begin at 7am.  We would also consider a per-diem clinician.

Responsibilities:

Provide routine care and management of patients as outlined in JumpstartMD’s standardized procedures.

Model exemplary patient interaction and program delivery:

  • Exude warmth, empathy, positivity and confidence with patients
  • Use active listening to collect information and maintain a patient-centered focus
  • Assess patients skillfully to identify their needs
  • Apply teaching and counseling techniques skillfully to address patients’ needs

Provide on-site leadership and direction to staff as needs arise

  • Assist Program Counselors with patient-related issues
  • Elevate program or operational issues to Clinician Manager or Director of Operations

  • Successful completion of accredited NP or PA program.

Patient Care Coordinator

Position Overview:

JumpstartMD seeks a polished, self-directed, mission-minded individual with outstanding interpersonal skills, to act as our first-point-of-contact for new and returning patients.  Through a combination of tasks and qualities, this team member paves the way for an exemplary customer experience and sets the tone for patients and staff in the office.  Saturday morning shift is often required.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Greet and welcome patients. Act as patient host.
  • Manage the patient calendar.
  • Collaborate with team members to direct operational flow.  Take “ownership” of the clinic operations.
  • Assist in opening and closing procedures.
  • Provide extraordinary customer service and creative conflict resolution.
  • Maintain a strong knowledge base of the current JumpstartMD policies and procedures. Enable their implementation in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Process orders, collect payments, and manage office inventory.
  • Identify any necessary office improvements, and act to address them.

Senior Accountant
JumpstartMD – Redwood City, CA

Reporting to the Controller, our perfect candidate will work to streamline and help scale business processes and prepare our department for our upcoming audit.

Main Job Responsibilities:
The Senior Accountant will provide accounting support to major financial accounting areas, including accounts payable, payroll and general accounting, including journal entries, intercompany transactions, account reconciliations, accrual accounting and stock administration. This role will also be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate payment processing of vendor invoices and generating checks on a regular basis and will assist our Finance team in all other facets of the month end close.

The Senior Accountant will assist our finance team with the monthly close process. This will include:

  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis
  • Post accrual and correcting journal entries, where necessary
  • Maintain fixed asset and Inventory ledgers
  • Recommend workflow modifications to streamline accounting close process
  • Play key roll to ensure accounting close duties are done in an efficient timely manner
  • Assist with the preparation of the monthly financial statements and Executive dashboards
  • Assist with the day to day activities of corporate compliance, such as various tax and regulatory filings and other corporate compliance.
  • Assist with development of internal controls and special projects, as necessary.
  •  Take significant role in dealing with auditors as part of our upcoming multi-year audits.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Public Audit experience and CPA preferred
  • 5-8 years hands on and increasing levels of Accounting & Finance experience in a fast paced, start-up environment
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills required
  • Ability to accept ownership and drive issues to a solution
  • Experience implementing financial processes and establishing/monitoring internal controls

IT Architect

JumpstartMD – Burlingame, CA

Position Overview:

In this position, you will be a hands-on IT and Software Architect leading the design and implementation efforts on a variety of projects from prototype to production deployment. In this small and fast-paced environment, you own the company’s IT infrastructure, Product Development and Production Platform. You will work with various and diverse business users and other team members along with external vendors to deliver a stable and scalable IT infrastructure supporting the overall business and production environment. In addition, you work with internal stakeholders, end-users and third party outsourced software engineers to develop new products, apps, portal features and enhance existing products and platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the architecture, development, build and delivery of an enterprise-scalable patient management platform and applications. Core functionalities of the platform include product integration with external service providers, extensible APIs and the integration of mobile and social experiences.
  • Serves as the main development technical lead across all functional departments during the entire lifecycle of product development including design, testing, deployment and production support.
  • Serves as the main Database Architect and Administrator responsible for planning, architecting, and supporting the day to day operation of the business’s multiple database platforms.
  • Demonstrate expert level knowledge in database design and architecture for a 24×7 environment.
  • Lead the design and implementation of a highly available and scalable database infrastructure.
  • Perform regular DBA activities and provider support to all platform and database environments
  • Work with external vendors to manage and ensure the stability and scalability of the company’s IT infrastructure.
  • Responsible for the uptime and 24×7 operations of the business’s internal applications across eleven clinic locations.
  • Deliver a long term IT strategy and Product Roadmap that aligns with the company’s business objectives.
  • Setup and Manage a hybrid cloud infrastructure in development, QA and production environments.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • BS degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent.
  • Strong project management skills with experience in managing both IT and software projects.
  • Broad knowledge and 10 or more years of hands-on experiences in the area of Software Development, IT Applications, Network, Platform Architecture, Database, System Management and 24×7 Production Operations Support.

IT Architecture:

  • Experience with hands-on strategic planning and implementation of IT solutions and experience working with vendors and resellers.
  • Experience in introducing, educating and implementing best practices for IT architecture development.
  • Drives the organization to improve efficiencies and reduce overall IT cost.
  • Develops Architecture Specification that maps business requirements into complete information systems, including the selection of technologies, processes and people.

Software Development

  • 10+ years of experience designing and developing SaaS based enterprise software and mobile application development.
  • Expertise with the entire Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Experience with Test Driven Development and Agile technologies.
  • Experience with different kinds of Cloud environments: AWS, Rackspace and Azure.
  • Strong C# and MVC background, JAVA experiences is a plus.
  • Solid working knowledge of SQL Server programming techniques including using triggers, functions, and stored procedures.
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, XML.
  • Experience with Ruby on Rails or Python.
  • Experience with WordPress.
  • Experience with .NET.
  • Experience developing REST and SOAP based web services, and building scalable APIs.

Database:

  • Experience architecting and working with distributed database system in a cloud-based or AWS environment.
  • At least 5 years of overall database architecture and administration experiences, with 2+ years of experiences managing and operating a 24×7 database environment supporting multi terabytes size database.
  • Hands on experiences administering and deploying large scale PostgreSQL and MS SQL Server cluster; including experience managing database failover and replication to support a 24×7 environment.
  • Strong experience in performance tuning and query optimization.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, Excel, and data quality tools.

Other:

  • Experience with Nginx or Apache configuration.
  • Experience with network monitoring systems such as Nagios.
  • Production Log management experience using Splunk, SumoLogic or other log management platforms.
